New Dressing Room….finally, right?

January 26, 2012

Have you been in the shop recently on a Saturday looking for a prom, pageant or Mardi Gras gown?  If you have, you know our dressing room is usually packed with bridal parties and it’s difficult to get into the dressing room without an appointment.

Well, not anymore!  My sweet husband worked all day yesterday, drove the 45 minutes to the shop and spent several hours building a new dressing room in our Mother of the Bride Room.

I am so excited!  I can’t wait for someone to use it.  It makes me feel terrible having a line of people waiting in the hall for a dressing room.  Did I mention how I excited I am that we now have THREE dressing rooms!

So stop by and try that new room out for us.  Be daring…use it even when the main dressing room isn’t full.

See you soon!!

How to ask her to be a bridesmaid…

January 24, 2012

Image

Isn’t this the cutest thing ever?  I LOVE these necklaces and we still have 7 in stock.  The back of the package says, “I wish I might, I wish I may, have the perfect bridesmaid on my Wedding Day!  A perfect way to ask your friends and family to be part of your special day and let them know how much they mean to you.  What could be more darling than wishing a friendship that lasts forever?”

So, if you’re trying to think of a unique way to ask, I think this is perfect (and they won’t break the bank).

Stop by and see us and have a great day out there!!

One Holiday At A Time…

November 7, 2011

I use one radio station at the shop.  Last week I had to change the station because they started playing Christmas songs.  Now, I love Christmas and I love singing along to Christmas songs with everyone else, but I can’t get in the mood for it at the beginning of November.  I need to have my holidays fall in the correct order and it seems so wrong to me to start celebrating Christmas before we have had a chance to celebrate Thanksgiving.

I love Thanksgiving.  I love how the weather starts to get cooler and the colorful leaves are everywhere.  I like to start decorating my home in fall colors and planning the Thanksgiving menu.  My husband and I are going to bake the turkey this year – our first one ever for such a special occasion.  I love that every day of the month we should remember to be thankful for something.  I love that my daddy will make his famous dressing using the homemade biscuits he’ll prepare that morning for breakfast and my mom will make sweet potato casserole and my mother-in-law will show up with all kinds of cookies and she’ll make meat pies…something I didn’t grow up with here in the South.

I don’t like the fast rush through Thanksgiving so that we can hurry up and buy, buy, buy for Christmas.  So, it was a great surprise to see the ad from Nordstrom saying that they are celebrating one holiday at a time.  Personally, I don’t often shop at Nordstrom, but I do like to visit their Atlanta store before Christmas and I will make certain to go again this year…road trip anyone?

I had already decided not to decorate the shop for Christmas until after Thanksgiving and I’m happy that I’m not alone.  So, enjoy your Thanksgiving, be thankful for everything and everyone and next time we will talk about the best holiday of all…Christmas.  Before you know it, it will be time take the family to see A Christmas Story at the Alabama Theater.  : )

Pink Display Windows

October 7, 2011

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  In recognition of this I decided to create a pink display window that would be pretty and fun and still remind the women driving by that now is a great time to have a mammogram.  If you have never had one please make an appointment as soon as you can.  The procedure is quick and easy and everyone should have one.  If you didn’t have your test this year, what are you waiting for?  Grab a friend and go together.  Scheduling your appointments together will help you remember every year and it can be a fun girl day of shopping or a movie or whatever you like to do.

Let’s admit it.  The room is cold.  Flashing a stranger is embarrassing.  It’s stressful waiting for the results, but it is so very important and well worth it.  Please schedule your appointment today.

The display window that I created let me enjoy a weekend of crafts with my family.  I have a few photos showing how much we enjoyed the process and I hope you like the end result.

Anne Barge Day 3

August 4, 2011

Happy Thursday!  Care to see more beautiful Anne Barge gowns?  Well, today is your lucky day!

The first gown I’m going to introduce is Anne Barge 436.  We have this gown in a size 10 in the color, Pearl.  The original retail price was $6810 and our price is $2724.  This is a strapless, a-line gown of horizontal beaded bands on silk satin.  It makes quite a statement and is gorgeous.

Our second Anne Barge gown of the day is 492.  This is also a size 10 and in the color, Pearl.  The retail price was $4390 and our price is $2195.  This gown has spaghetti straps and is a dropped waist gown of silk satin.  It has a full pleated skirt accented with a pin tuck and beaded lace bodice and hem.  I think it is very romantic.

Be sure to stop by and check out these gowns while they are still here and we would love to hear all about your wedding plans!  Have a great day!

Anne Barge Gowns, Day 2

July 29, 2011

Happy Friday!  As you probably noticed, I didn’t have an opportunity to blog about our beautiful Anne Barge gowns yesterday, but that means we were really busy at the shop and that’s a good thing.  Today I am going to show you Anne Barge gown  411 and gown 508.  Both of these gowns are currently on display in our front windows and they are simply incredible.

This beautiful ballgown takes center stage in our windows and is so elegant.  This is a size 8 strapless ballgown with a pleated scoop neckline, an empire line with rhinestones, a corset piped basque bodice and a full rouched chapel train skirt.  A basque bodice refers to a bodice that is a close, contoured fit and extends past the waistline.  Any bride would feel like a princess in this ballgown.  The retail price was $4670 and our price is $2249.

This Anne Barge gown is a size 6 and in the color pearl.  It is a tip of the shoulder gown in embroidered net over silk crepe with an empire waistline.  It has a narrow skirt and godet train.  A godet train is a triangular sweep train.  The retail price was $5270 and our price is $2108.  It is simply elegant.

Be sure to come by and consider an Anne Barge gown for your wedding day.  They really are amazing.  I hope to see you soon!
